The short version. There are no accounts on Taylordle.org. Your guesses, results and streaks are stored by your own browser and are never sent to us. The site is paid for by advertising, so our advertising partners set cookies and may use them to personalise the ads you see. You can change or withdraw that choice at any time.
Who this policy applies to
This policy covers taylordle.org and the daily word and lyric games published on it. Taylordle.org is an independent, fan-made puzzle site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Taylor Swift, her record labels or her management. You can reach us through the contact page about anything in this policy, including a request to exercise your rights.
What we collect
Game progress, kept on your device
Your guesses, completed puzzles, win statistics and daily streaks are written to your browser's local storage. That information stays on your device, is not transmitted to us, and is not connected to a name, an email address or an account. If you clear your browser data for this site, or play in a private window, your streaks and statistics are erased and we have no way to restore them.
Ordinary web request data
When your browser loads a page or fetches a daily puzzle, our servers receive the information every web request carries: your IP address, the browser and operating system you are using, the page you requested, the page you came from, and the time of the request. We use this to serve the site, keep it available and defend it against abuse. It is held for a short period in server logs and is not used to build a profile of you.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. Some are set by this site, and some are set by our advertising and measurement partners. Analytics
We look at aggregated traffic and usage figures to understand which games people play and where the site is slow or broken. This is reported to us in summary form and is not used to identify individual visitors.
Why we are allowed to use your data
For visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, the legal bases we rely on are these. These games are made for a general audience and are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this site, contact us and we will delete it.
How long data is kept
Server logs are kept only as long as needed to keep the site running and secure, then discarded. Game progress in your browser is kept until you clear it. Cookies expire on their own schedules, which the companies that set them publish in their own policies.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection and we take reasonable measures to protect the limited data we handle. No website can promise perfect security, and we hold no passwords or payment details of yours to lose.
